Statement
Having lived in Japan for five years I’ve had many wonderful experiences, I feel very comfortable and inspired living in Tokyo. Right now I'm focussed on developing my designs in a independant manner. I believe in myself, my creative talent and my ability to adapt to change and meet challenges with a positive attitude.

2004 | Freelance Designer
Since arriving in Japan I have been working on design projects such as shop re-design, furniture design, business branding, jewellery, and website design.
1996 | Jesse Taylor Design
Established in 1996 I have now designed, manufactured and distributed an extensive collection of jewellery throughout a network of galleries, fashion boutiques and design within New Zealand.
Education
2002 | Bachelor of Industrial Design - Wellington Massey School of Design
My studies at design school focussed on a research projects based around the following themes: Product design, ergonomics, materials and processes, visual communication, furniture design, methods and practices, manufacturing techniques and a history of design.
These projects were communicated in various media such as: Freehand sketching, photography, technical drawing, printed panels, computer modelling, prototypes, written reports, digital video and presentations.
1996 | Introductory Certificate of Design - Wellington Polytechnic
As an introduction to design I used this time to develop a portfolio of work for submission for entrance into the degree programme. Only 200 people were accepted from over 600 submissions.
1995 | Diploma of Art and Creativity - The Learning Connexion
During this one year diploma I developed my creative skills through painting and sketching.

I love living in Japan and I’m still intrigued with the people, culture, history, architecture and design.
